Today, there are more people blogging and vlogging than ever – hundreds of thousands. So perhaps you are wondering why you would choose us when you probably get many requests on a daily basis.
The answer, for us, is simple.
Full-time travel is our life now
Most of those hundreds of thousands of blogs and vlogs out there are hobbies.
Ours is not.
We’ve both quit well-paying, professional jobs in corporate America to fulfill our dream to travel the world permanently. And while we’ve saved money for the initial portion of this trip, this is our business and we work tremendously hard every day, on things like Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and page speed, to increase our readership and viewership.
This is hard work and we take it very seriously. We are not hobby bloggers and vloggers. When others stop writing and filming, our channels will continue to thrive and bring in traffic to your business.
Our Traffic Goals
Currently, our blog traffic gets about 45,000 sessions a month – and that’s 300% more than this time last year.
- Our blogging goal is 100,000+ sessions per month by next year.
- Our YouTube goal is 50,000 YouTube subscribers by next year and to at least 150,000 subscribers the following year.
- We want to increase our readership of adults in the 30-50 age range.
With us, you’ll get traction now. But the payoff for our partners is more about the readers and viewers who will see their content in the future.
How We’ll Get There
Aside from the technical considerations, we work every day to establish trust with our readers. We want to show people our age (mid-30s to late 40s) how they can realistically travel the world and have fun on a reasonable budget.
We’re not, for example, going to tell people they can enjoy a round the world trip like this on $20 US a day. Many others might do that, but we don’t believe most people our age want to travel this way. It takes money to have memorable experiences, and most people in our age range have at least a decent budget.
We believe that you can travel comfortably and responsibly, contribute to local economies, and have a great time by spending about $50-$75 US each day. That’s realistic and that’s what we want to show people.
Some experiences will be expensive. Others will be free. The average trip will fall into the $50-$75/day range overall.
How we choose partners
We’ll be honest with you – we’ll pick partners that we’re already predisposed to enjoy. We’d never choose a partner who is offering us something for free in exchange for a positive review. On the occasions we get random offers via email, we rarely accept them because they don’t fit with the purpose of our trip.
Besides, readers and viewers know when you’re only giving a good review because you got the experience for free or at a substantial discount.
Instead, we proactively reach out to the types of companies that, quite honestly, we’d choose anyway. And that’s because we’ve already done our research. For example, if we reached out to you, it’s because we already know a lot about you and want to show people what the experience is like in real life.
In other words: You already match up with how we want to travel and we’re probably going to like you.
What does that mean?
We want our readers and viewers to have a positive experience with us. We’re never going to lie to them. Likewise, when it comes to our partners, we want to keep our experiences positive, so that’s why we won’t work with companies we wouldn’t enjoy anyway.
Our goal is to choose partners who’ve demonstrated that they’re reputable. Our goal is to show our readers and viewers the real-world experience.
There are plenty of downsides to long term travel – we want to limit that stuff to things that are beyond the control of our partners. We’ll still film and write about getting sick on the road or not being able to do laundry for a weeks while hiking.
Our bottom line
We’re two travelers in our 40s who’ve decided to leave great-paying jobs to travel the world – ideally on a budget of less than $75 per day.
Our viewers and readers are growing fast
We have rapidly growing traffic on both our YouTube channel and our travel blog, which we expect to increase substantially over the next year and into the future.
We are not hobby bloggers
Travel is our job and we take it seriously. You’ll work with two people – Michael and Halef – who have the knowledge and the tools to get your content in front of our readers and viewers.
We put a great deal of work into helping travelers discover how they, too, can travel the world like us.
And we use top quality travel vlogging and photography gear to do the job right.
We want to enjoy our trip
We pick partners that we’ve researched and who we believe are going to add tremendous value to our lives on the road, We’re professionals who are in this for the long haul to make what we have work for both us and you over the long term.
